These two cheesesteaks couldn’t be more different. Donkey’s Place is a 3rd generation sitcom star. I saw a post online that Donkey’s Place is a stop on the Anthony Bourdain tour. Nick’s Pizza is maybe a year in existence. I enjoyed my visit to both of these places. If Nick’s was nervous they didn’t show it. Two very good cheesesteaks.

This should have been a much closer match. Several diverging stories here. One of the cheesesteaks I didn’t like on my first visit. It could have been an ordering error on my part. Two years later they were in the Championship match. The other cheesesteak, I had a great 1st visit. Ate my cheesesteak at Double Nickel brewing. Loved my Dot Matrix draft. Unfortunately this wasn’t their best effort.

Two cheesesteaks that are new to March Cheesesteak Madness. Brynn Bradley has been open for several years. I’m a little surprised they weren’t in the tournament sooner. Ry and Howie’s is a new place. This was love at first bite. This was a very close match. I was surprised at who won. It came down to the density of the roll. Roll video!! See what I did there??

This is a competition but it could also be a Delaware Chamber of Commerce commercial. Jessop’s Tavern in Historic New Castle was nice enough (that’s how we roll in Delaware) to host several Cheesesteak head to head death matches. Trisha makes a great old fashion. If you have never been to Historic New Castle, it is our miniature Colonial Williamsburg. Many of the buildings are still owned by the initial William Penn land grant.
