This is a match up of two places that I really like. But I would probably order something other than the cheesesteak. Wednesday is buy one sandwich and get one sandwich 50% off. Get the Garlic Bread Cheesesteak and the Roast Pork. Tell me which you like better. Nora Lee’s is cajun. Crawfish vs cajun cheesesteak, which are you eating?

Battle of two really long names; Ioannoni’s Specialty Sandwiches vs Scalessa’s ‘My Way’ Old School Italian Kitchen. From now on; Ioannoni’s vs Scalessa’s. Both places are known for other things before their cheesesteaks. I would put Scalessa’s butter cake before pretty much everything I eat.
Ry & Howie’s Steaks & Hoagies vs Chick’s Deli

Old school vs new school. The battle of route 70. This match could have several names. Old vs new is probably best. Chick’s has been winning ‘Best of’ awards for many years. They have been in March Cheesesteak Madness every year. Ry & Howie’s is brand new. This could be their coming out party.

New Jersey/Delaware Region – 1st Round match-up
This is a cheesesteak competition and I have two daughters. But, I saw a beautiful woman at each of these places. One of them walked by as I was videoing the cheesesteak. Later when I was editing the video I could tell when she walked by. The cheesesteaks; I will keep going to each of these places no matter who wins. Each place has more to offer than a very good cheesesteak.
Lillo’s Tomato Pies vs Meatheadz Cheesesteak

Other Counties Region – 1st Round match-up
This is a big time match. In other cheesesteak competitions this could be in the finals. I really like that Meatheadz seems to get better every time I eat there. I went for the Drippin Steak and I stayed for the cheesesteak. Lillo’s, I think we have a great ‘how we met’ story but John doesn’t agree. Lillo’s came out of the gate very good.
Gouldsburger’s vs Brynn Bradley

New Jersey/Delaware Region – 1st Round match-up
Two first year entries in the big dance. Gouldsburger’s is relatively new to the cheesesteak scene. I appreciate what they are trying to make a cheesesteak worthy of a Haddonfield address. Brynn Bradley quietly making a big boy cheesesteak. This match should have been closer.
Peter & Sons Sandwiches vs Donkey’s Place

New Jersey/Delaware Region – 1st Round match-up
This is a generational match up. Peter & Sons is starting a business that they hope will last generations. Rob, 3rd generation, at Donkey’s Place is doing a great job paying respect to his family. I think Rob is using the same grill his grandfather did. I feel like I can taste 50 years of grease in the fried onions and I love it!! Peter & Sons is building a great business one person and amazing new menu item at a time.

1st Round – New Jersey/Delaware Region
This match was a lot closer than it needed to be. I am a fan of both of these places and their owners. One place has beer. The other has beer 1.5 miles away. Neither of these entries passed the eye test. One did much better on the taste test. Who won?? Sorry, no spoiler alert.
